Sustainable Events: Top Tips from The Sustainability Community

The session concluded with Kate Hutchinson, Founder of The Sustainability Community and the Yorkshire Sustainability Festival 2024. Hutchinson shared valuable tips for organizing sustainable events:

  1. Support Local Suppliers: Choose local providers whenever possible to reduce emissions associated with transportation and support your local economy.

  2. Offset Uncontrollable Emissions: Invest in carbon offsetting to compensate for unavoidable emissions associated with the event.

  3. Make Sustainability Accessible: Keep costs reasonable to ensure everyone has an opportunity to participate in the sustainability journey.
