How do Green Spaces Help?

geenspaces 4.jpeg

There has been a whole host of new initiatives introducing sustainable practices into our daily lives and one way this has been done is through the installation of green walls in indoor environment. But these can often be high maintenance and without proper knowledge in the plants being used, can have the opposite effect, such as moss walls that require chemical preservatives and systems that fail to manage water usage efficiently. This leaves a gap for new initiatives on creating indoor green environments.

We are gaining more and more evidence that creating green spaces within indoor environments is beneficial to human health and wellbeing in many ways. This is causing a huge rise in companies, especially hospitals, looking to create greener environments due to the ongoing increase interest and care in wellbeing. There are a whole host of ways in which green spaces can be beneficial such as:

Heightened Productivity Levels

Being surrounded by nature and green environment has been proven to improve concentration, lessen attention fatigue and drive productivity up by 20%. This is likely because it improves morale and is thought to lessen headaches.

Reduces Stress

Being at one with mother nature is proven to reduce stress, reduce heartrate and clear the mind. So, it is no surprise, that bringing the outdoor in with lifelike green spaces will have the same effect.

Nurtures Positive Relationships

An unexplained phenomenon of greenery is the ability to aid people in building positive relationships with one another. It is possibly something to do with the calming and stress reducing qualities, but another great reason to introduce this.

Improves Sleep

Likely not something you will want to encourage in an office but in an environment like hospitals it is worth noting that bringing plants and green space indoor is proven to aid people with their sleep, with people living in more rural spots reporting better sleep than those living within an urban environment.

How great would it be if you could create a green space that also aids in waste reduction using recycled materials. These materials will still look great and give the desired outdoor aesthetic, yet does not require any upkeep and also assists in planting new trees? Sounds too good to be true right?

Well, Imageco focuses on converting your space into a vibrant, creative expression that utilises sustainable print materials. They can offer full design to installation services due to their in-house designers and knowledge on all things green and sustainable.

Eco Wall Canvas

Their Eco Wall Canvas utilises plastic bottles from the ocean and recycles them into stunning visual solutions which can be used for; wall coverings, wallpaper and stretch canvas graphics. They even double your sustainability effort by planting trees in your name when you choose this option!

Ocean Backlit Textile ECO FR

Imageco’s most innovative offering within their greenspaces project is their backlit textile which is produced from 100% recycled PET plastic bottles. The piece includes backlit and front lit applications, is top coated for use with UV, latex and solvent inks, ensuring brilliant colour reproduction.

Imageco developed this self-adhesive window print to be repositionable and removable without leaving any residue or damage to the surface. These are great for creating a green space whilst also aiding privacy, without blocking out natural light.

Our aim is to only provide recommendations to companies with a true care for the environment and Imageco’s focus on sustainability tops most others. They have recently introduced a whole range of renewable energy solutions such as green energy procurement, solar PV and the voltage optimiser (VO) installations, reducing their carbon output by more than 43,000kg per year!

One of the reasons they are brilliant for indoor prints is their use of HP Latex inks which are safe for indoor spaces with no harmful VOC’s. This is so safe and non-pollutive that they have even been able to use it in children’s hospitals due to the low levels of toxins and lack of aroma released into the air.

You can see Imageco’s Greenspaces project here and if you are interested in adding a greenspace into your ward or even office spaces then don’t hesitate to contact them.
